Ramon gave treasurer’s report.  The association was given a check for $78.40 for the share of the soda machine proceeds at Pavilion Park.  Expenses are still proceeding along budgeted expectations.

Discussion of directory.  Now that kid’s sports and school is out, Wayne will be able to give more attention to the production of the directory.  The directory will be distributed free to fully paid members of the Pine Brook Civic Association.

Billy Fish addressed the board.  He will earn the Life rank in Boy Scout Troop 80 soon and was interested in doing an Eagle project in Pine Brook.  Billy is looking to do some work in one or more the neighborhood parks.  He is seeking ideas.  Some ideas suggested were enclosing the porta-potty at Pavilion park with plants, enclosing trash cans and recycle cans at Pavilion Park, building a full size picnic table at Hidden Park, painting playground at Hidden Park, painting the fence at Pavilion, installing benches by Pavilion Park backstop and installing mats under the swing sets at Hidden Park. Other ideas will be accepted and a final plan submitted to the Boy Scout Council of which projects Billy will undertake as part of the project.

Jacquie discussed Jonah Harmon’s Eagle Scout award ceremony.  Many civic leaders attended and spoke.  Jonah planned the event and Jacquie was very impressed with the event.  Congratulation to Jonah for earning the rank of Eagle  Scout and for the improvements he mad to Hidden Park as part of his Eagle project.

Discussion of weed control at Front Entrance.  Some ivy is climbing trees by the front sign.

Jacquie discussed a letter from Township asking to hold a meeting at Pavilion Park to discuss the completion of work along Lamp Post Lane.  The Pennsylvania American Water Company is going to replace all the water lines along Lamp Post Lane including the line to each home up to the water meter.  The work is being considered now because Lamp Post Lane has been torn up for other work, it is better to do the water line work now before Lamp Post Lane is repaved.

Discussion of Hampden Township’s Citizen’s Police Academy.  Residents were invited to attend the ten week course.  Details are available on the Township website.

Discussion of grass mowing at the neighborhood parks and asking the company mowing the parks if they would cut the grass a little shorter.

Discussion of Pine Brook annual meeting and the election of officers/board.  If anyone is interested in serving on the board, please contact Jacquie at 737-2425. The office of Treasurer and Secretary are up for election as are all the board members.  The election will take place at the Annual Meeting in October.

Discussion of Pine Brook picnic set for September 7, 2013.  Looking for help planning and organizing the event.
